Columbus Clippers

Brett took Parker and Cole to the Columbus Clippers game the other night and they all had so much fun. They went with Jim, Charlie and Maggie Clarke and it happened to be 1/2 price tickets, dollar-a-slice pizza night and free hat night. You've gotta love minor league baseball:) Since it was a weeknight and it had been raining all day, there were not very many people at the game, which worked out well because the kids could run up and down the aisles and sit close to the field without being completely obnoxious to everyone around them. They even ended up lasting all nine innings, which is a first for my kids. I think this is going to be something that we do A LOT this summer.

We Were So Young!

I was on Myspace tonight looking around and was on my little sister Leslie's page and found this picture that she scanned in. It just made me smile because it seems like so long ago, but at the same time like it was just yesterday. I was 18 here, graduating high school, getting ready to go off to Ricks, probably dating Brett and my parents were most likely very ready for me to move out of the house:) We all look so young and I am sure I do too, but strangely, I feel the same inside. I have to remind myself that I am almost 30, have been married for 7.5 years, have graduated from college and am the mother of 3 kids. Even though I live my life everyday, when I step back and look at it on paper, it sounds like the life of someone much older than I feel. So I ask you all, "Will I always feel 18"?

Daddy-Daughter Nap

As many of you know, Brett was very apprehensive when he found out we were having a girl. I think he just knew that she would have him wrapped around her little finger and that freaked him out a bit. Well, his worst fears have been realized (I know this because he can't walk past her without commenting on how perfect she is) and moments like this just tighten the grip that she has on him.

Too Much Courage...

Is there such a thing? When it comes to Cole the answer is a resounding "YES". I accepted the fact a year ago that Cole would be my emergency room kid because he has had stitches 3 times and has knocked out one of his front teeth (luckily he has a random extra tooth in the front that will hold the space until his adult tooth comes in. I truly believe that God, being omnipotent, gave him a spare.) Yesterday we took the boys to the skate park. Cole was on his Razor scooter and Parker on his bike. We have gone before, but did not have pads for them and learned after that experience that we couldn't go again without pads. So we got them all strapped up with their pads and let them go. I actually believe that they have the opposite effect than they are supposed to have...Cole was actually much more daring and was going down hills and off jumps that he has no business even walking down. He thinks he is invincible with those things on and quickly learned that he isn't after falling and scraping up his arm pretty good, but did that stop him or even slow him down? He just went up and tried to go down the same huge hill again (we stopped him this time). This kid is either going to be the death of me, or help make me a better, more patient person. *SIGH*

New Baby, New Blog

I have finally started this thing. My brain couldn't handle it while I was pregnant and things have been busy with the new baby so I am finally posting pictures of her almost a month after she was born. Oh well:)

Emma Jane Startin was born on April 17 at 2:09am weighing in at 7 lbs. 10 oz. She is beautiful and girly and we are so happy that she is finally here!! She has been sleeping great and is a really calm baby so far. She slept from 12:30am to 6:30am last night. I couldn't ask for more than that!!
